Born in South Korea, Dr. Seung Jun “Sonny” O was raised in American Samoa and Alabama, respectively. Dr. O attended college on a golf scholarship at the University of Mobile in Mobile, AL where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.

He received his medical degree from the University of South Alabama and was awarded the Alpha Omega Alpha honor. In 1993, Dr. O progressed his medical education further at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) located in Charleston. In 2001, Dr. O completed his fellowship in plastic surgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital–University of Miami. Dr. O found his niche as a plastic surgeon during this time. Today, he continues to find fulfillment in the emotional and physical transformation of each patient.
Dr. O is a board-certified plastic surgeon by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of numerous professional medical societies at the local, state, and national levels. He has authored 17 peer-reviewed papers and has given numerous presentations on plastic surgery. He has also served as an Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery, Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and since 2003.
A resident of Daniel Island, Dr. O is married with two daughters.
