The Surprised Look
Some of our patients express their concern over what is often referred to as the "surprised look" during their initial brow lift consultation. This occurs only when the surgeon performing the brow lift raises the patient's brow unnatural position. The result of this is a "pulled" forehead that leaves the patient with a constant "surprised" look as their brow line is pulled above its natural anatomical position.
During your subcutaneous brow lift, Dr. O will restore your brow back to its original position. In doing so, he can create a natural looking brow line in male patients while giving the ladies a more aesthetically pleasing and delicate arch to their brow line. When performed correctly, there is minimal risk of ending up with the "surprised look" so many people worry about.
The Subcutaneous Brow Lift Procedure
During the subcutaneous brow lift procedure, Dr. O will make two fine incisions right at the hairline. After this, directed dissection will be used to elevate the brow minimizing any damage to the muscles and nerves in these areas. The incisions will then be closed with sutures and allowed to heal. Dr. O prefers to use this form of brow lift as it offers exceptional results with minimal pain, bruising, and swelling. When the brow lift is done with upper eyelid surgery, the results often restore a healthy and youthful appearance to the peri-orbital region.
If you would like to learn more about this form of brow lift surgery, Dr. Sonny O offers free initial consultations during which you can discuss the procedure, learn more about the process and recovery period, and have any other questions you might have answered.
